Meet our #SwanFamily

1st Grade Team

  • Aubrey Phamdo, 1st Grade Teacher/Instructional Team Leader - Hello Swans! My name is Mrs. Phamdo! I am one of the first-grade teachers here at our Swansfield Pond! I cannot wait for another fabulous year at school! I love being a Swan, and I know you will, too! When I'm not teaching, I love hanging with my family. I coach my daughter's soccer team, read fun stories, and try to teach my dog new tricks! I hope everyone has a great summer! We will see you soon at the pond!
  • Allison Witherow, 1st Grade Teacher - Hi Swans! I am excited to return for my 4th year at Swansfield. This will be my 15th year teaching and I can’t imagine a better job! Over the summer, I enjoy exploring nature with my three children, Matthew (13), Daniel (11), and Anna (8). Many of our adventures involve wading in rivers and streams looking for critters!
  • Maria Keefe, 1st Grade Teacher - Hello Swans! I am Mrs. Keefe, and this will be my fourth-year teaching first grade at Swansfield Elementary School and my seventh year working at HCPSS. My heart is in teaching, and I am privileged to witness the amazing student growth that occurs throughout first grade. Some of my favorite things to do include reading, making artwork, traveling, and spending time with family. I can't wait to get to know all of you!
  • Rachel Garrett, 1st Grade Teacher - Hi Swans! I am excited to start my 5th year in Howard County, but my first as a Swan! My family and I love living in the Harper's Choice community! You might see us walking or riding our bikes on the trails, swimming at the pool, or playing at the park. I can't wait to meet you soon!

  • Emily Benz, 3rd Grade Teacher/Instructional Team Leader - Hi Swan Family! My name is Ms. Benz, and this is my 7th year teaching at Swansfield Elementary!
