Caring Message for the Week of Nov 16th- Nov. 20th
This week our school is focusing on improving our world. Improving our world helps people recognize and think about things other than ourselves. It helps us develop a proactive attitude rather than a passive "It's not my problem" attitude. We are never too young or too old to help improve our world. Improving our world is easy. No positive action is too small to help. Even picking up one piece of trash helps improve our world! Please continue to encourage your child to think about and do something about things in our world that need to be changed.
Fun Family Tips:
- When members of your family do things that help improve our world, notice and compliment them. Perhaps your family could help organize a fall clean up in your neighborhood. With the holiday season quickly approaching, perhaps your family could help organize a group of families on your street or in your apartment complex to adopt another family for the holidays. Helping each other, cleaning up, being responsible...all of these things help improve our world!

pickAtime is Extended For a Few More Days!
Our school will be using a web-based application called pickAtime to schedule parent/teacher conferences. Parents with internet access will be able schedule their parent/teacher conferences, print their schedule, and have an email reminder of the appointments sent to them. To access this program, please click on the scheduling link https://www.pickatime.com/client?ven=11602756.
This program is easy to use and can be accessed at your convenience beginning Thursday, November 5th at noon. You will be able to access this program to schedule or cancel your appointments until Monday, November 16th at 4:00. After this date, please cancel or reschedule your appointments by calling the main office at 410.313.6907. If you do not have internet access, please call our school to schedule your conference(s) beginning Friday, November 6th.
In order to access this program, you will need your child's student ID number. This ID number can be found in your child's Monday Folder on Monday, November 2nd. Unfortunately, a student ID number cannot be given over the telephone. Therefore, if you do not have your child's Student ID number, please call the main office at 410.313.6907, beginning Friday, November 6th, as we will need to make your appointment(s) for you.
A demonstration of pickAtime will be aired on HCPSS TV (Channel 95-Comcast, Channel 42-Verizon) during the November Parent Teacher Connection show. Starting November 7, it will be aired every Sunday at noon and 10:00 pm, every Wednesday at 7:00 pm and 10:00 pm, and every Saturday at 3:00 pm. This broadcast can also be viewed or downloaded from the Howard County Public School web site www.hcpss.org or HCPSS TV web site www.hcpsstv.com.
