Caring Messages for Parents for Feb. 1st - Feb. 5th
During the month of February our character education focus is on cooperation.  The theme of this week's messages is being a friend to everyone.  Being a friend to everyone helps us reach out to include others.  Being a friend to everyone helps us all get along and prevents loneliness.  In order to be a friend to everyone, we must be willing to share our friends and our time with each other.  We need to be unselfish and be willing to reach out to others.

Please encourage your child to be brave enough and caring enough to be a friend to everyone.  Talk with your child about the importance of having friends.  Help your child practice friendship skills.  Praise your child when you see him/her reaching out to, talking with, or making friends with others!

Fun Family Tip:
Ask your child to name every student in his/her homeroom or who takes part in one of his/her extracurricular activities.  Have your child name something he/she likes about each student.  Challenge your child to learn one new thing about each student this week.  Reward your child if he.she learns one new thing about each student!  Explain to your child that learning about others is a good way to be a friend to everyone!
