Good Afternoon SES Families,​​​​​​​

I hope this communication finds you well. We had a great week at SES! We would like to provide a special thank you to all students that took part in Breast Cancer Awareness Day at Swansfield. There was a sea of pink across the school. 

Looking ahead to next week we have a PTA meeting on Wednesday night at 6:30pm. We would love to see you there! In addition, we have our Title I Family Night for RECC/K on Thursday. There will be no school for students on Friday.

  • October 18th - PTA Meeting (6:30 - 8:00pm)
  • October 19th - RECC / K Title I Family Night (5:30 - 7:30pm)

  • October 28th - PTA Fall Festival / Trunk or Treat (1:00pm) 
  • October 31st - Schools close 3 hours early / End of First Marking Period

 

New Information 

 

Pre-K/K Title I Family Night

Attention all PreK and K families! Our Title I Family Night is coming up on Thursday, October 19th from 5:30 - 7:30 pm. Join us for a great evening of dinner and fun hands-on math and reading activities. To allow parents and PreK/K child to engage together in the learning activities, there will be separate supervised play activities for siblings. Please see our invitation for the agenda for the evening. Be sure to RSVP by Monday, Oct. 16. This helps to ensure we have the right amount of food and take-home materials for all. We can't wait to see our PreK and K students and their families on Thursday!

 

Winter Coat Day

Free winter coats, hats, and gloves for children and adults. Saturday, October 14, 9:30am to 12pm at the Wilde Lake Interfaith Center. 

 

PTA News 

 

FALL FESTIVAL & TRUNK OR TREAT: OCT. 28 AT 1 P.M.

Join the PTA for a Swan family favorite, our annual Fall Festival and Trunk or Treat event on Saturday, October 28! The Fall Festival will be held from 1-3 p.m. on the SES blacktop, followed by Trunk or Treat at 3 p.m. in the front parking lot. Bring your whole family for music, fall themed games, and crafts! Stay tuned for more information on how to sign up for Trunk or Treat or to volunteer at the Fall Festival.

 

STUDENT ARTISTS ENCOURAGED TO SUBMIT ART TO REFLECTIONS ART CONTEST

Does your student enjoy art, music and dance or have an interest in writing, producing films and taking photos? Then encourage them to have fun unleashing their inner artist by submitting an entry to the PTA Reflections art contest! Art can be submitted in the following categories: Visual Arts, Dance Choreography, Film Production, Photography, Literature, and Photography! The theme this year is “I am hopeful because . . .”  Winning entries will be forwarded for competition at the county level. For details, visit our website. After logging in, select photos from your phone or computer. For each photo select one or more tags that can be attributed to your photo. Click on Begin Upload.  We would love to get your first day of school photos and back to school picnic photos!
