Parent Teacher Conference Information.pdf Parent Conference Registration.pdf GT Placement OrientationParents who are interested in learning more about the GT placement process for 4th grade math and middle school can plan to attend one of two information sessions planned by Swansfield Gifted and Talented teachers. The sessions will be held in Ms. Malcotti's classroom from 4:00 to 4:30 pm and from 5:30 to 6:00 pm on Thursday, February 14, during parent/teacher conferences. SES PTA Offers Science Fair Workshops to Prepare for Science Fair Coming February 27Registration for Science Fair workshops is open! These FREE workshops are being offered by the PTA every Saturday morning in February from 9:00-10:30 am. Students must be accompanied by an adult or high-school-age sibling. Students who want to do their own science project at home can sign up to receive a display board along with the student information packet. You can find information about the Science Fair online at http://swansfieldpta.org PTA Hosting Evening for Kindergarten ParentsParents of Kindergarten students are invited to a special evening planned by our school PTA on Wednesday, February 20, from 6:30 to 8:00 pm. Connect with seasoned Swansfield parents and get tips and advice on all things Swansfield and HCPSS. Dinner and fun activities for the kids will be provided. RSVP topresident@swansfieldpta.org by February 15th. Summer Program RegistrationHCPSS presents many learning opportunities this upcoming summer for students entering Grades K–12. Crayon and Marker Recycling Now Available at SESThe 4th grade Green Beanz have started a crayon and marker recycling program. Don't throw away those markers or crayons (paper may be left on). Have your child bring them in and place them in the box in the pod. Thank you! Kids Heart ChallengeThis year's Kids Heart Challenge concluded today. Swansfield students raised more than $2400. Thank you to all who helped support this effort to raise funds for the American Heart Association! FARMs Program Provides Many Benefits For Eligible FamiliesThe Free and Reduced-Priced Meals (FARMs) program provides access to an array of services for qualified families including free and reduced-priced breakfasts and lunches, free SAT and ACT registration, free tuition to take college courses at Howard Community College while still enrolled in high school, free college applications, reduced AP exam fees, reduced costs for a number of services provided by Howard County Rec and Parks, Columbia Association and Comcast, and much more. Volunteers/Chaperones Must Complete TrainingAll volunteers and field trip chaperones in HCPSS schools must complete the online training course prior to volunteering (see link below), print a completion certificate and return it to the front office. If you are unable to access online a printed version is available at school.
