Please review the information below regarding our regular arrival and dismissal procedures, as well as important information regarding arrival on the first day of school.

Arrival & Dismissal Procedures

Please use the following links to access important information/directions for Arrival & Dismissal Procedures.

Early Dismissal

Dismissal is a very busy time of day. In order to ensure all students are dismissed correctly, no early dismissals will take place after 2:50pm.  After 2:50pm, students will follow normal dismissal procedures.

Changes to a student’s regular dismissal procedure

Communication about dismissal changes for a student should go directly to the front office (by phone) as early as possible, but no later than 2:30pm,  to ensure time to communicate with the teacher.  It is also a good idea to email the teacher in addition to calling the front office.

No Animals

Please be mindful that animals are prohibited within HCPSS buildings. Animals are also prohibited on school system property during arrival, dismissal, recess or other HCPSS sponsored outdoor activities. Service animals or service animals in training [per MD Annotated Code Section 7-705 (Service Animals) and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)] are exempt from this prohibition.
