Swan families, we have noticed an increase of students being sent to school sick with a covid-like symptom and/or medicated for such symptoms. As per our current guidelines, HCPSS still requires proof of a negative PCR for a covid-like symptom or stay home for 5 days. Please help us keep everyone else protected, we do have a few immunocompromised Swans in the building as well, so keep performing those daily health checks at home. We really appreciate your understanding and support!

BSAP Corner

Henry Louis Aaron (February 5, 1934 – January 22, 2021), nicknamed "Hammer" or "Hammerin' Hank", was an American professional baseball right fielder who played 23 seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB), from 1954 through 1976. He spent 21 seasons with the Milwaukee Brewers/Atlanta Braves in the National League (NL) and two seasons with the Milwaukee Brewers in the American League (AL). Aaron is regarded as one of the greatest baseball players of all time. His 755 career home runs broke the long-standing MLB record set by Babe Ruth and stood as the most for 33 years. Hank Aaron still holds many other MLB batting records. He hit 24 or more home runs every year from 1955 through 1973 and is one of only two players to hit 30 or more home runs in a season at least fifteen times.

Young Author’s Contest Correction

Winnie Campbell’s name was mistakenly left off the list of last week's newsletter announcing our 4th graders that participated in the Young Authors' Contest.  So we want to send a congratulations to her for submitting her short story!

Upcoming Science Fair - it’s not too late to participate!

The Swansfield Science Fair will take place online on Monday, March 21st for students in Kindergarten and 1st grade and Tuesday, March 22nd for students in grades 2-5. Students will have the option to share their science fair experiment by creating a video or recording a google slides presentation about their project. If your child is still not sure whether they want to participate in the 2022 virtual science fair at Swansfield, check out some of the entries from last year’s science fair to see how fun and easy it can be! Click here to see a few examples.

If any students are interested in participating, please let us know by filling out this Interest Form for each child. By filling out the form, you will be sent a template your child can use if they want to do a slide presentation, along with a packet of information about the fair and a “how to video” that explains how your child can prepare their entry. We recommend signing up by Feb 16th to get access to these resources. Final entries must be uploaded by March 9th at 5pm.

Participating students will earn a prize.
