Good Afternoon SES Families,
We had a great week back after the Thanksgiving holiday. Chorus students took part in the finale of the winter concert for Clarksville MS on Wednesday night. We want to thank Ms. Pearson for preparing the students for this special opportunity. Our 5th grade students took a field trip on Thursday to the National Museum of African American History & Culture in Washington DC. Thank you to our 5th grade team and to the parents that chaperoned this field trip.
We look forward to celebrating Inclusive Schools Week, December 4th - 8th. Each day will have a different theme and we are asking all students and staff to take part. Below you will find the schedule for the week.

Inclusive Schools Week: December 4th - December 8th
This is a week to celebrate the progress public education has made in supporting quality inclusive educational opportunities for diverse learners! Knowing that SES places such high importance towards creating an inclusive setting for all children is something that we should all be proud to support.

Mobile Dental Clinic
The MOBILE DENTAL CLINIC will be visiting Swansfield on December 5th, 2023. The registration forms will go home this week or next with Friday folders. Alternatively, you can register online at www.MySchoolDentist.com.
Please remember that this clinic is mostly for those students who do NOT routinely get seen at their dentist.
NexTrex Challenge
The annual NexTrex Challenge has started! During the NexTrex Challenge the entire school recycles plastic bags and plastic film to prevent these items from going into the landfill. A flier and magnet explaining the challenge will be coming home in Friday Folders. Students bring in plastic items and place them in the NexTrex recycling boxes. Members of the Green Beanz environmental team weigh the bags. Volunteers pick up the bags and drop them off at local grocery stores who send the bags to the Trex company. If Swansfield students collect 1000 lbs of plastic, our school will receive a Trex bench. So far Swansfield has saved over 300 lbs of plastic from going into the landfill!

SES CAR MAGNETS FOR SALE
Do you want a SES car magnet, but cannot make it to a PTA meeting? For a limited time, the PTA will be selling the magnets online for distribution to your student at SES. GREEN BEANZ ENVIRONMENTAL TEAM HELP
The Green Beanz Environmental Team is collecting plastic to win a bench from Trex! Students are helping to weigh the plastic each week, but Mrs. DiVenti and Ms. Malcotti could use help bringing the plastic to drop-off bins at a supermarket (ex. Giant, Harris Teeter).
Please use the sign-up sheet: Swansfield Plastic Recycling Pick-up to help with their efforts! From there, all you need to do is park in the front and come into the vestibule. Bags will be waiting to be picked up there. Thank you in advance for helping the Green Beanz!
JOIN THE SES FUN RUN COMMITTEE
The SES P.E. team and the PTA are launching a first-time fun run to help raise funds to purchase new P.E. equipment for the school. The fun run will be held on school property and the course will be approximately 1 mile long. The event date will be announced soon (Spring 2024).
