I hope this communication finds you well. It’s been a beautiful week of weather. With the change of season, we know many of our students will suffer from seasonal allergies. If your child needs allergy medication or an inhaler, please reach out to our health room staff.
I would like to thank our 4th grade families that joined us on Thursday evening for the Title I Family Night. We had an excellent turnout and we appreciate the time spent with us. Thank you to the 4th grade team for planning the night and focusing on their math and ELA commitments for the school year.

Kindergarten Registration Opens March 4
Registration for the 2024-2025 school year begins March 4, 2024. Parents/guardians of children who will be five on or before September 1, 2024, must enroll their children in kindergarten for the 2024-2025 school year. Current HCPSS prekindergarten students do not need to register for kindergarten.

AFTER-SCHOOL PLAY: SIGN UP BY MARCH 22!
Calling all 2nd-5th grade actors! The Swansfield Elementary School PTA has arranged for Schoolhouse Theater Arts, Inc to come back again this spring for the production of FROZEN!
Rehearsals will be Wednesdays after school, starting right after spring break, with dress rehearsal on May 23rd and the show on May 24th. Cost is $180 per child. (The PTA will be sponsoring 5 financial scholarships to support those students who would like to participate but for whom the registration fee is cost prohibitive.)
Look for a flyer in your child’s folder today for details and sign up ASAP!

FAMILY CULTURE NIGHT, APRIL 12
Join us at SES on Friday, April 12 for an evening of cultural displays, performances, activities, food, and prizes! SES FUN RUN: APRIL 27
Lace up your shoes and get ready for the first SES Fun Run on Saturday, April 27 at 9 a.m. The P.E. department and PTA are hosting a morning full of activities, including the one-mile Fun Run course, to raise funds for SES Field Day and P.E. equipment. The event is open to those of all abilities (walkers and runners welcome) and is open to students, families and the community. Once the yearbook quantity is selected, you will have the option to participate in the Yearbook donation program which will help ensure that all graduating 5th graders get a Yearbook. COMMUNITY EVENT
The Hickory Ridge Community Association is hosting a community event on Friday, April 19 including live music, food trucks, and games. All families are invited to attend (open to all, including Hickory Ridge residents and nonresidents). The event will be held at the Hawthorn Center in Columbia, and is free to attend.
