Dear Swansfield Families,
My name is Judy Solomon and I am the new PTA president for the 2025-2026 school year. I have two kids at Swansfield, Jack in first grade and Lyla in 4th. I also have a 6th grader and a 9th grader. It’s been a very busy but exciting start to the school year at my house. I hope everyone’s year is off to a good start!
The PTA Board has been working hard to plan for an amazing school year! I’m looking forward to our Back-to-School picnic and hope to see many of you on the Swansfield blacktop next Friday, Sept 12th from 5:00-7:00pm! (See link below to order pizza!)
The PTA plays an important part in building a strong school community. To make this happen, we need everyone’s support. Here’s how you can help make this a great year…
JOIN THE PTA: If you haven’t already, please consider joining the PTA. The easiest way to support the PTA is by becoming a member. PTA membership for 2025-2026 is $10 per person. You can also donate to the PTA.
ATTEND PTA MEETINGS: PTA meetings will be the first Wednesday evening of most months in the SES media center. All PTA meetings will be hybrid this year, allowing you to join in person or online. For those who attend in person, the PTA will provide childcare and snacks. While it is not required for our members to attend meetings, we hope you’ll join us to hear what’s going on, get involved, and build community. Thank you to everyone who showed up this past Wednesday for our first meeting!
VOLUNTEER: Throughout the year we will be looking for volunteers to help plan or run activities and events. Our format for recruiting volunteers will be a little different this year (no google form at the beginning of the year). Be on the lookout for more information via this PTA newsletter that is emailed out every other Friday. You can sign up to do a little job or a big one. There is something for everyone!

Gaga Pit!!
Last Spring the SES community came together for our 2nd annual Fun Run. The proceeds from this event raised enough money to allow the PTA to donate funds for the school to purchase additional recess balls in addition to a Gaga Pit. A big thank you to Scouting America, Scouts BSA, Troop 361G for partnering with the SES PTA and helping to build the Gaga Pit on Saturday, August 30th. We hope that the students enjoy this new activity at recess for years to come! For anyone looking for directions on how to play Gaga, here is a resource that explains the rules of the game!
Woot Woot Wagon
WOOT WOOT Wednesdays are back! Once a month, on a Wednesday, the PTA will push the WOOT WOOT WAGON around Swansfield to treat the STAFF! Please sign up if you’d like to contribute treats (directions posted in the sign up).

Girls on the Run
Swansfield has a Girls on the Run Team for 3rd-5th graders!! Practice starts Thursday, September 25th and will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:15-4:30 with a culminating run on Saturday, December 6th! Sign up using this link. Questions? Email MindyGorelik02@gmail.com

Friday, September 12th 5-7pm: Back to School Picnic
Join us on Friday, September 12th at SES for the annual Back to School Picnic from 5:00 to 7:00. Bring your chairs and blankets and join us behind the school! The PTA will provide snacks, you can bring a picnic lunch, or you can pre-order a pizza from Vennari’s Pizza and pick it up at the picnic. Purchase a XL Cheese Pizza for $13.00 or XL Pepperoni Pizza for $14.00 through the PTA online store. Ordering for the pizza will close Wednesday, September 10th. We need volunteers to make the picnic a success - please sign up for a slot to help!
Friday, September 19th 4-7pm: Snowball & Treats Fundraiser
Join Us for a Night of Frosty Fun! ❄️ Bring the whole family to our Snoball & Treats Fundraiser and help support Swansfield! Your support helps fund vital programs and resources for our students. Hosted by: I Loves Me Some Snoballs,Sweets & Treats at 12260 Clarksville Pike. A portion of the proceeds goes to support Swansfield fun for the whole family!
