My name is Mindy Gorelik, and I am the secretary for the SES PTA. Our second PTA meeting of the year took place last Wednesday, October 8th. If you couldn’t attend, you can review the minutes on the PTA website.
The SES PTA strives to build community. One way to help us stay connected is through our community directory. Please fill out this Google form with information about your child and family. The information from this form will be shared with any families who choose to participate. Please complete one form per child. If you have more than one child, you will need to complete the form multiple times.
I hope to see you next weekend, on Saturday, October 25th for our Fall Festival, this is one of my family’s favorite PTA events!

NEW INFORMATION
Superintendent’s Proposed Attendance Area Adjustment Plan for 2026-2027
On September 25, the Superintendent proposed a *new* attendance area adjustment plan. The primary reason for the adjustment is to alleviate overcrowding at Bryant Woods ES. The new plan would impact Swansfield Elementary significantly more than the previously proposed plans.. The new plan would have 38 students at Swansfield moving to Clemens Crossing ES next year and 125 students moving from Clemens Crossing ES to Swansfield.
Over the course of the next 4-6 weeks, the PTA plans to share more detailed information and advocacy opportunities for our community, should you wish to oppose or support the plan. There will be a series of work sessions and opportunities for public testimony. The school will also keep families up to date with the most current information through the newsletter. We provide two links below: The first link is the Superintendent’s plan while the second link is to the school system website that houses the most current information around the boundary review process. Page 14 of the proposed plan has a map where you can see the polygons affected under the new plan. We encourage you to tune in to the work sessions and Board of Education meetings, so you are aware of any impacts to your family.

CALLING ALL CREATIVE SWANS - IT'S REFLECTIONS TIME!
Does your student enjoy expressing themselves through writing? Dance choreography? Photography? Film? Music composition? Drawing, painting, or other forms of visual art? If so, please encourage them to unleash their creativity and submit an entry to the annual PTA Reflections contest!
Reflections is a Nationwide PTA contest that is a fun way for Swansfield students to engage in the arts. The theme this year is “I Belong!” Swansfield winning entries will be forwarded for competition at the county level. For more information, rules, the entry form, and more, please visit our Reflections Information Site.
Entries will be due by Sunday, November 30th.

Please email any pictures you have taken at school events to yearbook@swansfieldpta.org or vp.schoolrelations@swansfieldpta.org. These photos will be used in this year’s Swansfield yearbook!

WOOT WOOT Wednesdays are once a month, on a Wednesday, the PTA will push the WOOT WOOT WAGON around Swansfield to treat the STAFF! Please sign up if you’d like to contribute treats (directions posted in the sign up).
